“Mysterious spiral” that looks like hazy, glowing galaxy seen hovering in Alaska’s northern lights

Memo
To: All Reali-Bridge employees
From: Linda Sparring, CEO
Subject: Successful Reality Bridge Test
Congratulations Reali-Bridge team – we did it!
Last week, we successfully deployed our latest six-dimensional reality bridge protocol and made contact with a parallel universe. We know many of you wish you could have been there for the historic moment, and we apologize for not announcing the test ahead of time. When initial trials showed better than expected results during set-up, the decision was made to fast-track the full launch to establish ourselves once and for all as the industry leaders in the multi-versal technology space.
As the first organization to establish a documentable reality bridge into a parallel dimension, there will be a lot of interest and press scrutiny regarding Reali-Bridge in coming weeks. We want to remind everyone of our non-disclosure agreements and our commitment to discretion. Please refrain from discussing your work or the internal operations of Reali-Bridge with any non-employees. We promise there will be a lot of fun news to share in coming months, and we’ll be communicating out with the entire team to provide a full slate of FAQs, talk tracks, and other resources that have been cleared by our internal communications, legal, and science teams.
Wherever you sit in the company, thank you for the contributions you’ve made to Reali-Bridge and to this incredible milestone in human history!

J-
We need to get to the bottom of the portal ASAP. In the last quaterly meeting, we were a year or more away. What changed?
Our phones are ringing off the hook with press, and I’m dodging questions from three Senators. Once the Pentagon starts to get involved, we’re not going to be able to drag our feet. We need to get our story straight now.
I’m flying to hq tonight. Should be on the ground by 10. I need answers when I arrive.

Memo
To: Linda Sparring, CEO
From: Bruce Linklater, Lead – Bridge Team 6
Subject: Debrief on portal
Mrs. Sparring,
I am the technical lead for Bridge Team 6, which was tasked with the roll out of the new 6-dim tech on the night that the portal became active. I have been asked by Dr. Stearns to conduct an internal review of the night in question and provide a synopsis ASAP.
After a thorough investigation, we believe we’ve identified the variable that disrupted our planned testing and caused the portal to activate – an atmospheric rocket fuel dump in one of the potential target universes.
As you know, our 6-dimensional protocol uses a mathematical algorithm to identify potential link universes. Once a target has been identified, our system attempts to sync our portal generator to a segment of particles in the target universe at a quantum level. The success of that syncing process is critical to the dimensional bridge theory.
We believe that a sudden injection of certain chemicals in the target universe’s atmosphere allowed our system to more easily complete the syncing process. Based on our analysis, the only practical use for such a mixture would be as rocket fuel, so we’re left to conclude that this success was entirely accidental but not entirely unrepeatable.
We’re fairly confident that we can reestablish contact with the same universe much more easily now, and with some time, we should be able to replicate the connection success with additional universes.
Dr. Sterns has asked us to have our results and conclusions documented for your arrival this evening. I hope this memo and the aformentioned documents will be able to answer any outstanding questions.

Jeremiah,
Dropped everyone else. I assume you’ve seen the memo your man sent to Linda. I’m working on the spin for this.
If we can reestablish contact easily, what can we get from this? I’m hearing rumors about a data dump while the portal was active. That means civilization on the other side, right?
I know we thought we’d get mostly empty planets and could mine resources, but this could be a win in a different way. If these guys have tech to share or even something culturally worthwhile, this could be huge for the announcement.

I’m sharing the results of the data analysis with Linda in about an hour. It’s not good. It’s definitely populated, but it’s not a good story.
We only got a snapshot, so it’s hard to fit the pieces together into something coherent. We’re pretty sure they either recently experienced or are still in the midst of a big disruption, possibly disease based or political upheaval. There’s some mention of war, and some really toxic social communication, mainly based on something called Twitter.
Culturally, we only got a small sample. It seems like AI is starting imitate some of their prominent celebrities, which makes us nervous about opening ourselves up to an unregulated intelligence like that. And there was a strange amount of chatter about something called the Love is Blind Reunion. We can’t make heads or tails of it.
I’m still looking for some silver lining before Linda gets here, but right now, I’m recommending we don’t reestablish connection with their universe. They’re somewhat behind us technologically and clearly dealing with a lot of issues. I think it would be a net loss for us to create a more permanent connection.
I think we can still play up the connection. The tech works (!). We just need to find a more worthwhile connection point.

Memo
To: All Reali-Bridge Employeers
From: Linda Sparring, CEO
Subject: Public Announcement of Reali-Bridge success
The big day is finally here! Today, we will be officially announcing our connection a parallel universe. It’s a big day for the Reali-Bridge family and all of human kind, and we’re excited to have you all with us on this journey.
After a thorough review, we have decided that our initial bridge target is not a candidate for long-term connection. Given the unprecedented nature of cross-dimensional bridging, we want to be sure that we pick the right bridge targets, and while our initial target surely has a lot to offer, it’s critical that our bridge targets create mutually beneficial opportunities for both sides.
Our science teams are hard at work identifying additional targets, and we look forward to soon establishing a permanent bridge partnership with Reali-Bridge!
